Your child will begin to sit up by herself after she has strengthen her core and back muscles. Place your child in the center-well and position them in the sitting position to strengthen the second lumbar lower back muscles which are quintessential to learning to stand up and walk. When she begins to comfortably sit up, begin placing toys, books, and other [safe] objects in front of your child so she can begin reaching for them and developing muscles to eventually help her crawl.
