On August 4th, twenty-five Global Kids decided to celebrate President Obama's birthday by taking action on climate change. Through their work in Global Kids' Summer Institute, led in partnership with the Council on Foreign Relations, these students took to the street to educate the public about the U.N. World Conference on Sustainability, also known as Rio+20. GK leaders gained petition signatures urging President Obama to take three crucial steps for Climate Change: 1) attend Rio+20, 2) appoint a high level ambassador to lead efforts on Rio+20 and 3) better engage and educate the public on this important world meeting to address the need for a green economy.
