Iris Benson wrote this poem as part of Jones & Jones' field school held along the Duwamish River in Seattle, Washington. Otse is a word from Luteshootseed the language of the Duwamish tribe whose people have called the Duwamish river home since the end of the last ice age. This poem is part of a larger work in progress documentary called "Changing Course," film by Patricia O'Brien (director\camera\editor\instigator) + Gabriel Miller (producer\camera\story editor\motivational force)
