The Granbury School Board gave the green light Thursday evening for the possibility of county voters agreeing to finance construction of a YMCA -- including a competition pool -- near Acton Middle School. The school board agreed to move 10 acres into Acton Development District #1 that would open up low-interest financing for a facility. The pool would answer the critics who have complained that Granbury High School swimmers have to travel to Fort Worth to practice because of lack of facilities, school board President Charlie Cloud said. The board also interviewed one of the two finalists for school superintendent. The other finalist was scheduled for interview Friday night, March 23. The meetings were held in the Hilton Garden Inn on E. Pearl St. instead of the school board meeting room.
