The Fish-Slapping Dance sketch was originally recorded in 1971 for a pan-European May Day special entitled “Euroshow 71”. It appeared in Episode 2 of Series 3 of "Monty Python's Flying Circus” which first aired on 26 October 1972. It is one of Michael Palin's favourite “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” sketches. He’s commented that the sketch summarises concisely what Python is all about.
