The Severn Valley Railway's Autumn Steam Gala 2010 celebrated the line's 40 Years of Steam, so added something extra to 'The UKs Premier Steam Event', the only gala that see's trains run for around 58hrs continuously from Friday morning to Sunday evening, through two nights. Just like the Spring Gala, some ex locos returned.
The engine that hauled the very first public service on 23rd May 1970, GWR 'Collett Goods' number 3205, returned to the railway to mark the occasion, alongside - 3717 'City of Truro' (who was overhauled at the railway for the GWR150 celebrations and painted BR Black on one side!), 'Small Prairie number 5542 (partly restored from Barry scrapyard condition at Bridgnorth), 5690 'Leander' (owned by the SVR from 1983 to 1989, who also worked the first passenger train into Kidderminster Town in 1984) and 34070 'Manston' (replacement for 70000 'Britannia' as they are similar).
