Ericson Acosta is a Filipino artist, journalist and cultural worker illegally arrested by members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines on February 13, 2011 in Bay-ang village, San Jorge, Samar province in the Philippines' Eastern Visayan region. He faces trumped-up charges of illegal possession of explosives and is currently detained at the Calbayog City sub-provincial jail in Western Samar.

Artists, cultural workers, and human rights advocates in the Philippines and beyond, have since rallied behind Ericson while he documents the struggle behind bars with a Jailhouse Blog maintained at http://acostaprisondiary.blogspot.com. A "Prison Sessions" CD, raw recordings of songs written by Ericson Acosta, was also made available to raise awareness of the situation of Acosta and other political prisoners who remain unjustly detained by the Philippine government.

Footage from this video is part of a documentary to be released by the Free Ericson Acosta Campaign with the help of friends from Habi Arts USA. (http://habi-arts.org)
