Cover notes:
1. Why this song?
2. Techniques used

1. This song by MxPx comes from their 1998 release "Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo," the first punk CD I ever owned. My middle/high school gang introduced me to MxPx, and I've enjoyed them ever since. This song mixes double time punk with a regular time rock chorus, and the result is great.

2. The main technique I use in this song is simple: changing the groove between HH, ride, and toms - something quite common in punk music. This song is not difficult to master, but the back-and-forth between double time and regular time takes some concentration. Students, try this song out. Cut out my embellishments, and focus on switching between the punk and rock patterns.
