In this video tutorial we explain the proper procedure for creating "Bleeds" within a Adobe InDesign CS5 file.

By definition, Bleed is a printing term that refers to graphics or design elements which extend beyond the print edge of your design piece. Bleed ensures that no unprinted edges occur in the final trimmed document.

This tutorial with work in many previous versions of Adobe InDesign as well.
