A harm reduction memorial lecture entitled 'Harm reduction: The Advocacy of Science and the Science of Advocacy' held on Wednesday 17th November 2010, in the John Snow Lecture Theatre, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Keppel Street, London WC1E 7HT.
The lecture is given by Professor Gerry Stimson, former Executive Director of the International Harm Reduction Association and Honorary Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. "Harm Reduction: The Advocacy of Science and the Science of Advocacy" mapping the evidence in support of harm reduction as well as consider the growing evidence-base in support of harm reduction advocacy approaches.
The lecture is chaired by Professor Peter Piot, the Director of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and formerly Executive Director of the United Nations Joint Programme on HIV/AIDS. The lecture was held in memory of Alison Chesney and Eddie Killoran, two pioneers of harm reduction services in the UK.
