John and Janets new oak framed home built across the lane from the house in which they had lived for the best part of 30 years is an embodiment of their aspirations for a character-packed, energy-efficient retirement home. One of John and Janets key aims was for a flexible, accessible home that would comfortably house visiting children and grandchildren. This is a comfortable, stylish home that meets all their requirements perfectly; situated on an idyllic rural site and pretty much the perfect place to enjoy family life to the full. It cost around £400,000 to build (£2,424/m2) and took around 18 months to complete.
