This is an introductory video from my recent trip to Bovec in North Western Slovenia, an excellent centre of adventure sports, which I would bet is one of the best in Europe. I was there to check out the white water rafting, mountain bike riding, zip lining, kayaking, climbing, horse riding, and whatever else you could possibly think of doing at the Julian Alps. Stunning as they are, the Julian Alps are worth visiting just to look at. They are even more dramatic than I had ever imagined. Sunbathing was not on the list of activities for us as we set out to explore the surrounding countryside, but our plans were scuppered by an intense storm which lasted about 36 hours, confining us to the not so great indoors. This video was made mostly from my room at the 3rd floor of the Hotel Kanin (named after the mountain) from where I had a great view towards the Triglav National Park and magnificent peaks. I would have liked to show more of this magnificent mountain range, but the storm put an end to that as well as the fact that the ski lift was closed. A lot more to come on Slovenia....
