The Big Moon performing Bonfire (dscvr Live). 2017
We’ve been working with The Big Moon since last summer, when they performed “Cupid” as part of Vevo UK’s dscvr series. The London outfit is a powerhouse; fuzzed guitars and pounding drums combine to propel whatever emotion the band is articulating at the moment. Singer/guitarist Juliette Jackson, guitarist Soph Nathan, bassist Celia Archer and drummer Fern Ford make a passionate sound that packs a massive punch. From their first gig at Brixton Windmill to subsequent supporting slots for groups such as the Maccabees and the Vaccines, they’ve grown more and more eloquent with each passing month. Fans learned even more about them after being featured in our dscvr: Ones To Watch campaign last fall. They performed their song “Formidable.” When it came time to celebrate our dscvr program live, we knew they had to be there. So in April, at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, the ladies raised the roof, performing a set of songs from their new album, ‘Love In the 4th Dimension.’ We’re sharing “Sucker,” “Bonfire” and “Pull the Other One,” so the world can see just how brilliant The Big Moon truly is.
