When Harold Fernandez, a heart surgeon at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, hears stories about undocumented immigrant students on Long Island, he understands why those young people feel helpless.
At the age of 13, he came to the US from Colombia without papers, eventually gaining admission and graduating from Princeton University. Throughout his years in college, he remained undocumented, but somehow found ways to continue his education.
In this video, he speaks how we can move forward in the immigration debate.
