This video demonstrates the sound differences of WASD V1 custom mechanical keyboards using Cherry MX Blue, Brown, and Black key switches with and without rubber sound dampening O-rings.
"Touch-type" means typing without pressing the keys all the way down to where the inside of the keycap hits the top of the switch. When you do not "bottom out", the keys sound exactly the same with or without the sound dampeners.
Sound Reference 0:28 Use the reference sound clip of a standard computer mouse click to calibrate your speakers. Adjust your speakers to have the sound level approximately the same as the mouse clicking on your desk.
Cherry MX Blue 0:45 This switch has a tactile feel along with an audible click to help you hear when a key stroke is registered.
Cherry MX Brown 1:14 This switch has a light tactile feel. When the switch activates, you will feel a light bump.
Cherry MX Black 1:44 This switch is completely linear. The feeling of the switch is smooth all the way down.

50A-R O-Rings were used in the video. However, there is practically no difference in sound reduction between the different O-ring models. The main difference between the L and R models is the reduction in key travel distance.
