Last weekend Bane's voice was reportedly leaked. The speech he gives matches up with recent photos of Tom Hardy yelling into a microphone at a stadium. The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. TDKR is directed by Christopher Nolan who has directed Inception and Batman Begins.

Amazing Amy
Tom Hardy...yum!
I agree such a good movie.
They never explained why jokers face was the way it was, he just made up a few stories to scare people, so you cant really use that as an example
I'm not going against what you said, in fact you almost just re-worded what I did say. People watch movies for the story, special effects and bring able to watch a book they might have enjoyed in the eyes of another person in some cases. If the effects, acting and storyling are bad people generally don't finish the movie, but if its good some will watch it several times.

Part of what makes Bane fascinating is how he only emotes with his eyes and eyebrows. It would have ruined the effect if he could simply take his mask off, and would have made his character much less interesting.
If you want just stories and characters, go read a book son. One watches a movie because of the stories, the actors' acting portraying the characters and a lots of other audio and visual stuff.
A good actor should be able to convey the message of a well written script regardless of facial visibility. Watch movies for their stories, and characters, not the actors that are in them.
His voice was actually deeper...there's a video going around of a before and after track of Hardy's voice as Bane. The reason he sounds a bit high-pitched and Connery-esque was the result of editing. Before that, he sounded much deeper and more gravelly.
What would be the point of completely emulating the comics? Scene for scene, word for word? There'd be no point on having a movie if it was predictable. I don't read the comics...I was shocked when Alfred left, when Bane 'broke' Batman etc...it's all good. They just used the comics as a base.

They both wore face paint. The only difference was Tim Burton's "surgical procedure" after the acid bath vs Christopher Nolan's "carving into his own face" like based out of the Dark Horse comics.
