The horrific wounds suffered by Iraq and Afghanistan veterans drove Creative Director Bill Schwab in New York to suggest a campaign. The board voted "yes" to a Hire The Vet campaign. Joel Parker of Parker Public Relations in California put us in touch with Nick Popadich, the Cigar Marine, a member of the 1st Marine Division who was blinded in action in Iraq. The TV spot was created from the actual incident. It was edited and transfered at Whitehouse New York under the purview of photographer Matthew Schwab. The print was donated all rights by the San Diego Tribune and photographer Will Van Overbeck. Liam Collins of Rubber Shark retouched the ads and the entire package was done gratis-approximately $145,000 of work in kind.
