I worked on this virtual reality arcade video game in 1993-94. This game was based on the Wolfenstein game engine, and though it's very old-school now, in its day it was pretty bleeding edge. These games made about 1$/minute while being played. Very few arcade games in 1994 allowed you to play in a multiplayer environment. I created a couple of characters for this game; an ant and a walker that resembled a star wars two-legged imperial walker. To create characters for this game you used Deluxe Paint and created a series of cell animation frames that represented the character shooting, walking, dying, and taking damage. It was a lot of fun. Robert Rice was the designer of this game and others were involved in the coding and assembly of the arcade units. I later became lead 3d modeler on a VR game called Xenomorph where I modeled the levels, designed the textures, and built a couple of characters. I'll post some video on that later.
