The conflict over natural resources such as land, water and food, is the root cause of human-wildlife conflict in many parts of Africa and Asia experiencing rapid population growth and shrinking habitats. Experts share solutions to enhance coexistence between people and wildlife at a gathering in Gabon's La Lopé National Park in April 2017 co-hosted by the World Bank-led Global Wildlife Program. Featured are Professor Lee White, Director of Gabon’s National Parks Agency, along with others from Gabon, France, Mozambique and the World Bank. "You can't eliminate human-wildlife conflict, you can only manage it." -- Elephant researcher Sumith Pilapitiya.
