This short clip demonstrates how to export a suitable 3D file through 3D DWG format for use in applications such as 3DS Max.
1. After opening your file, ensure you are in 3D View and preferably not a camera view. 2.Select the Revit Icon(file) then Export 3.Select CAD Formats (DWG) 4. click the small ... Icon (settings) and click on the solids Tab 5. Change to ACIS Solids (much better geometry/meshes) 6.Select your file location and name 7. You're done!
If you are not using Mental Ray such as us (Vray users) we prefer this format as it retains Revit Layer information and does not include any unnecessary materials/textures that can cause crashes/issues if not removed. Added Layer of file safety.
