Whats the Big Idea? Night pARTy
Push Play Summer Festival
Sat, Aug 15, 2009, 9 pm—2 am

Before heading off to Burning Man, join us for the first Whats the Big Idea? Night of the 2009/10 season to celebrate the success of our first ever PUSH PLAY YBCA Summer Festival and experience the ART in pARTies!

Hosted by Norman Zelaya. Turn up the heat with the worlds greatest Cuban surf rock band, The Cuban Cowboys, the 21st century tribal shimmy of Mezklah, the outrageous acts of Dwayne Calizo and the Voice Factory, and the spellbinding rhythms of Kulintronica.

Shake off the chill with the KPFA DJ all-stars Aztec Parrot, Wey South, Sep and Kool Kyle as they spin fury and bliss in Gallery 2.

Join Burning Man altar master, Shrine, and collaborator, Star, as they build a sacred Bird House in the Sculpture Court.

View YBCAs current exhibition Wallworks; an installation by Mama Calizos Voice Factory in the Room for Big Ideas; plus screenings of outrageous short films from 9 pm to midnight in the Screening Room.

Enjoy cheap drinks at our cash bar and the culinary delights of Farmer Brown and Little Skillet.

And its not too late to get a free tattoo from tattoo artists Philip Milic & Andrew Mann. Henna tattoos by Rachel-Anne Palacios are also available.

Sponsors: Campari
