Schwartz, PhD, MBE, Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Yale School of Public Health, discusses recent topics in U.S. vaccination policy that highlight the need for greater consistency and clarity in the ways that public health policymakers and their expert advisors (1) evaluate vaccines compared to other preventive interventions, (2) promote HPV vaccine compared to other routine vaccines, and (3) consider the varying effects of school vaccination requirements and exemption procedures across communities.
