On 31st May 2012 the leader of the Wikileaks website, Julian Assange, lost his appeal to not be extradited to Sweden where he is likely to be then extradited to the USA and charged.

Australians rallied against the extradition of Julian Assange outside the department of foreign affairs in Melbourne.
