Dreamer, written and composed by Roger Hodgson, was Supertramp's first hit song. I love the orchestra versions of Roger's songs. Roger is the actual writer and composer of 90% of Supertramp songs, many of which were written before he even met Rick and co-founded the band.
Supertramp as a band never wrote and composed together, there were only two songwriters for the band. The songs Roger sings lead vocals on are the ones he composed the music and lyrics for, and the songs Rick sings lead vocals on are the ones that he wrote. It's awesome. Roger breathes life into all of his music, as he has said they are his "babies," more dear to him now then when he wrote them. Enjoy!
Sharing some thoughts Ive read:
"This performance was jaw dropping. It was like turning the clock back 25 years. Roger's voice was as it was in Supertramp's heyday."
"Wow! What a fantastic night! What a guy. What songs. What warmth from Roger to the audience and the audience to Roger. What a feel-good night. I turned to look at the faces in the circle and above and EVERYONES faces were alight with enjoyment. Fantastic! Please do it again soon. Absolutely brilliant..."
