Special thanks to justicefrog (http://justicefrog.deviantart.com/) who designed and animated Scorch Raptor, BarylTDF (http://baryltdf.deviantart.com/) of DeviantArt and
Yllisos Zanon from X9/rockmanpm forums for making the original sprite stance.
This is an early look at the Scorch Raptor boss battle. It takes place in the boss test room that I use to code and test all the bosses in, which is why X warps right into the room. The battle music is temporary for now, it'll likely change by the demo. There will also be a victory song after killing Scorch Raptor.
At half health, Scorch Raptor enters a "rage mode" and his attacks become much faster, he doesn't get a knockback when hit, and his lava attack gets more intense. I would like to have some sort of animation to show that he's transitioning to "rage mode", we just don't have one yet.
I had to change a lot of things in order for it to look decent for the 30 FPS restriction YouTube has. Eclipse runs @ 60 FPS so I had to slow down any kind of flashing/blinking and the screen shaking. The lava also has animation but, again, too fast for 30 FPS.
If you haven't heard of us before, Megaman X: Eclipse is a fan game being developed with GameMaker Studio. We aren't affiliated with Capcom in anyway. This is purely a game by the fans, for the fans. More info on us can be found at our blog: http://mmxeclipse.blogspot.ca/
