Our shoreline is being subjected to more of a battering than ever before. It's just another result of global warming, if some sources are to be believed.

But managing the erosion of Britain's beaches is still to be overseen by one body -- at the moment coastal protection varies by local authority boundaries.

But erosion, of course, doesn't follow such an arbitrary pattern.

In one part of the country they're looking to livestock to save their coastline, but some parts are being left to slowly erode away. And that could spell disaster.

James Laidler finds out why.
