Dear River is the first single, and the title track, from Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo's forthcoming new album.

"I grew up by a beautiful river called 'The Blackwood' in the South West of Australia'" says Emily. "As I got older, I started to dream of the world beyond the banks of The Blackwood and I imagined writing a letter to the river asking it to take me down to the estuary and throw me out to sea, so that the waves may carry me to far away shores. I imagined the adventures I would have, immersing myself in different cultures, meeting lovers and standing under night-time skies full of stars I can't read. Dear River is about longing for the excitement of the unfamiliar, where the journey itself becomes a home. I set out on that journey, which is full of all the adventure and discovery that I wished for, but the more I travel and experience, the more the river calls me back and I start longing for what I knew: those first landscapes, those first loves..."
