Nov. 18, 2015. Panelists: L’hon. Louis LeBel, Howard Kislowicz, Fr Raymond de Souza, Hoi Kong.
The final panel examines the current trajectory of Canadian jurisprudence with respect to the fundamental freedoms of conscience and religion. How are those freedoms understood, and how fundamental are they? What warrants their curtailment or infringement? How do we decide whether an infringement is or isn’t trivial? And how far does the law’s trajectory coincide with public expectations?
