What started out as a catchy riff on guitar turned into a co-write between me, PJ Pacifico and Scarlett Lewis (Founder of the Choose Love Foundation).

Backstory on the song: I kept playing the main guitar part over and over again last February… but didn’t have a story to go with it, so I brought it to my friend PJ around the time of the winter olympics, and he said “it sounds anthemic and big” like these winter games …. let’s write it about something BIG. Enter Scarlett Lewis….

Right after meeting with PJ I ran into a high school friend who told me about Scarlett’s foundation and the building of the "Where Angels Play" playgrounds… I knew right then what this song was going to be about. I went to the ribbon cutting ceremony of the West Beach Playground and was so moved by the hundreds of Fire fighters, State Troopers, moms, dads and Senators all working together, that (with the help of PJ’s melody), came home and finished the tune in about 20 minutes…

Interestingly enough, after opening for Kevin Bacon’s band The Bacon Brothers last summer and meeting those guys, we were able to meet up with their bass player Paul Guzzone in the studio in Nashville while they were on tour there. So Paul is on bass and Rich Herring from The Little River Band is playing the acoustic guitars. Both great guys.

The songs is framed around many of the phrases that Scarlett uses to describe her Foundation so we decided to call it a co write between the three of us, me, PJ, and Scarlett. I hope you like it. I know we loved writing it and love performing it ...and will gladly perform it anywhere.

Thanks for all the kind words from all the folks who have responded to us about the song so far… God bless.
