Love transcends all race, religion, cultural background, gender, and orientation. The sensual ambiance coupled with the driving rhythm of the music sparks a romance.
GOLD is dedicated to Frankie Tomcsik, the “Moose.”
It was the perfect, warm summer night. Everyone was dancing around the fire, almost like a fairy tale - it felt so serene. There was a faint scent of drifting smoke from the confetti bomb that had recently erupted. Frankie was swaying back and forth across from me through the glowing embers. There was a mood present that was different from all other moments. There was something unfolding, not only the creation of Gold, but it was the final hours of life for a beautiful being. A giving, caring, loving soul who in his last hours drove out to do what he did best - be there for others; helping them, giving to them no matter how long he had to drive or how little sleep he was going to get. He swayed in the moonlight, prancing around as the Moose. If only we had known those were going to be his last few hours with us, the last time we would unite on this earthly plane, perhaps the feeling would have been different. Music brought us together, with the basis of Gold showing love transcending all things, races, and even physical form. Love moved even from departed soul to human and back again. Whispers of the connectedness of all things flourished, and ideating throughout the animal fire dancers was the importance that all humans and animals alike are entitled to their basic rights, and to be seen as interconnected equals.
There we stood, united by the fundamental basis of existence and through music, the perfect feeling of togetherness in our hearts. Nothing else mattered. Filming Gold brought us together one last time, before Frankie would depart from this world, as his soul continued on its journey through space and time. We were united one last time to awaken the encouragement of others to put down their prejudices, and raise up a gold like love in its place. Treating all creatures as equals, an extension of ourselves. Receiving is in the act of giving, as Frankie taught us, for when he drove all night to film Gold it was he who was in a state of thankfulness. The act of giving alone brought him the joy, as if we had just handed him substance of more value then he had ever seen. We’ll see you Frankie, on the next warm summer night.
