'Twas the 9th night of February..

And we FINALLY got our arm component to work with the joysticks (with it being mounted on the chassis and all). Yes, those are our bumpers.

.. But all of this eventually lead us to the decision to switch our two globe motors and gear motor with step motors, because it didn't seem right. (There's actually a whole lot more reasoning than that; I was just trying to make a long story short).

Well, that's our plan for now, anyways.

And that isn't exactly our whole arm yet either. We have a huge "claw" that we will be attached to the end of the arm (which will add another 834598 lbs, unfortunately), but that is a whole 'nother story. Maybe I'll post a vid of that too in a couple of days.

Oh, and if you're wondering why there aren't any students gathered around the robot, we just had it that way this first time 'round as a "safety precaution". Mentors made sure we were at least a good 5 feet away. We were totally all over that robot 5 minutes before the vid was taken though, haha. Don't worry.

One more week, guys! Er, girls....? Keep it up.

P.S. My apologies for poor vid quality, it's a video from my phone.

And yes, we build and practice in our school's hallways. The school hasn't given us a room we can work in (yet!), so we mark our own territory as we go.

Google/MDR Machining, Inc./PRESENTATION INVASION Team 2135: All-girls rookie team from Presentation (obvious enough??) High School.

Yeah, way to promote the team, right?? =]
