Emil Gilels (1916-1985) is soloist in this February 1959 recording, issued in 1963 on the "World's Greatest Music" label, of the second movement of the Mozart Piano concerto in C major, K. 467. Rudolf Barshai conducts the Moscow Chamber Orchestra (identified merely as the "Chamber Orchestra" on the label). This recording was part of a set of 10 LPs, boxed as as "Introduction to the World's Greatest Music," serial number WGM-1. On the reverse side of the LP is a recording of the Mozart third violin concerto, with David Oistrakh soloist.
