Be Engaging — As in a conversation, listen as often as you speak to stakeholders, supporters and believers in your cause. How do you engage donors, followers and supporters? Are you listening?

The mission-driven organization creates a culture of communication when it recognizes it must be engaging—listening more often than it speaks, to understand the needs of its audience and constituents.

Being engaging isn’t always about sharing the great things you’re doing. Sometimes you need to ask your audience what they think, in order to find the points of interest where they want to have a conversation with your organization.
