Update: I say Cabernet Sauvignon, but I meant "Sauvignon Blanc" ...happens to the best of us, right? - The home winemaker will typically use a basic acid titration kit to measure acidity in wine because other manners can be quite expensive. This is still a good accurate test that you can rely on especially when you have become consistent in the process. This video shows how. Just to clarify... when I have added enough sodium hydroxide to the sample to achieve my color change, I am subtracting the amount of hydroxide left in the syringe from what I used. We started with 10cc's and we used 7cc's. So that gave us an acidity reading (expressed as TA) of .7%
