This engine has sat through the rain, heat, cold and wind. It's been grown in on the side of my house for 7 months without being started or even touched.

For those who are wondering, it's a Briggs & Stratton 6.75hp flathead engine, which has been tuned to about 8hp due to camshaft timing changes and a machined head for better compression. It runs without a blade, instead having a heavier flywheel. I run the engine with 3/4-quart 20W-50 Castrol GTX automotive engine oil, and use 89-octane unleaded gasoline. My sparkplug is a Champion RJ-19LM, gapped at 0.035" or 0.889mm. I use a choke instead of a primer bulb, and my intake valve has been bored larger 0.2" in radius. the engine has been optimized for running at high speeds of around 7,500rpm.
