We took New York-based concert pianist Fei-Fei Dong out on a rainy afternoon in downtown Denver to explore the iconic 16th Street Mall. Fei-Fei wowed passers-by as she dynamically performed George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” on one of the mall’s public pianos. On Thursday, May 21, Fei-Fei will be the featured soloist playing the locomotive jazz number with the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra. The DPO’s season finale entitled PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES also features John Adams’ “Short Ride in a Fast Machine” and Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5.
Tickets and more info at DenverPhilharmonic.org.
Special thanks to Fei-Fei Dong, Adam Tilley and the Concert Artists Guild, CSG and the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District, and Sam Pike.
