In her lecture, Syrian juror Sulafa Hijazi will deal with Arab identity that is prominent in her films, even in her films for Arab children. Sulafa Hijazi is one of the most successful filmmakers of the new, yet still not very well known Arab production. In addition to animation, she engages in live actor films and documentaries. Her animated feature-length film The Jasmine Birds from last year has won awards in Egypt, Russian, Iran and the Netherlands.
