When Matthew Hoh joined the Foreign Service early this year, he thought he was signing up to help implement US policy in Afghanistan and Iraq. However, in a move that surprised everyone, even the White House, Matthew Hoh became the first US official to resign in protest over the Afghan war. He is not the only one who is abandoning the current administration either; many White House and government officials have left their posts. Are these departures signaling a sinking ship?
