Brand new Apple iMac Retina 5K, 27 inch, late 2015 crash, reboot, randomly restarts itself in the middle of work. I have NOT installed any other applications yet. In other words, it is just opened iMac.

We now found that these are the problem.

- 661-03173 Logic Board, 4.0GHz, Quad Core, 4GB, i7
- 661-03524 Power Supply Unit, 300W, iMac 27”

If you have same problem, go to Apple store to replace these under warranty.

I am having a bad experience with my brand new late 2015 imac Retina 27 inches. It randomly restarts itself. I visited Apple Store in Pasadena three times but they could not find the problem or causes. They kept saying that I should contact the retailer which is in New York. Since I did not buy this computer from an apple store, they can not exchange for another new one.

When I visited the apple retail store in Pasadena, I waited for about 4-5 hours each day to meet the technician. He checked all physical parts and founded nothing wrong. I explained what happened but he did not trust me or just followed the apple policy. Since the apple Genius man thinks that the problem could be the inconsistency of electricity, I came back to office and tested in different locations and captured these footages by our video camera.

From this unsatisfied experience, I learned that we should purchase apple products from only apple stores to get the full exchange warranty. However, it is very ironical that apple uses other retailers to sell their products without full exchange warranty.

We now found that these are the problem.

Good Luck!
