Preston was born at 37wks 3 days. He was induced due to my high blood pressure, his birth was supposed to be at a birth center but obviously those plans were changed. He was born with a fairly tight true knot in his cord. During my induction my blood pressure remained stable throughout. We really feel my high blood pressure beforehand was a sign, he was going to need more help than a birth center could provide. After about 1.5hrs of having him with us after he was born he was blue and taken to the NICU, he eventually was transferred to a level 3 nicu for further support. He was very sick for his first week. We were later told that he was one of the sickest babies in that entire NICU...very scary. He required a lot of support and almost had to be transferred to yet another hospital for even higher support but luckily he turned around. Once he "turned the corner" it was all up from there. At 15 days he came home from the hospital. He is now almost 2mo and doing great. He has some kidney problems we are still working on having diagnosed but for the most part he is a healthy normal baby. We are forever grateful to the NICU staff at Presby Dallas. He is truly our little miracle baby.
