A quick sampling of what a geared-down E-Revo with the 700HO from Kershaw looks and sounds like. A couple of WOT runs, etc.
The reason it was geared lower is to cope with the big 7" tire/wheel combo which is VERY heavy and puts tremendous stress on the motor.
With this motor the truck seems to making a bit of a "whining" noise, typical of a loose SPUR GEAR, but in this case the spur is pretty tight.
Seems like the motor just has that high pitched sound. If you own one and can confirm this, please let me know. Thank you.
PS: I have a 16T pinion, not a 14T as I said in the video. I am trying a 14T next. The fix for the 17MM nuts coming off was the obvious one: use BLUE Loctite on them which allows for easy removal while still keeping them from coming loose.
01/09 NOTE: For running in the winter at outdoor temps of 50 deg. and below the stock 19T pinion has been working fine, no overheating in any terrain or situation even with the large wheel combo.
