A digital artwork from c 1996 made by playing with a Mac 750 with a Miromotion card, a jewelery shop turntable, a collection of small objects of no value, Hi 8 footage from the Freud Museum, London of Freud's collecton of artifacts. The small objects were captured through a Hi8 camera directly into the computer.
Re-digitised to DVcam from a VHS print August 2006. It did have a soundtrack of the only extant recording of Freud speaking. But I've left this off and am currently looking for a soundtrack - if you have any ideas...
"'Hospitable approaches like these, could be seen, in Cherki’s words, as relating to the unconscious of another as a “repository of the trace effects of culture and history” and not just as the battleground of Oedipal conflicts." Howard Slater Originally shown at the Polish Cultural Institute, London, February 1998. Projected onto a wall as part of the 'Bigos, artists of Polish Origin' exhibition.
