Dee Zeller, On-Site Manager, Big Morongo Canyon Preserve

This preserve is home to a variety of species of birds. Its one of the few places in the state where the Brown-Crested Flycatcher and the Summer Tanager nest. The preserve receives up to 50,000 visitors a year, a good share of them birders. One of the Green Path North Transmission Corridor routes would cross this preserve. Zeller says the project would devastate the wildlife and the land, cutting off routes for Big Horn Sheep and impacting the preserves bird—and birder—population.
