バングラデシュ、ダッカの名門私立大学であるNorth South Universityにて、「Earth Day x 530」というイベントが開催された。 イベントを企画したのは、JICA（Japan International Cooperation Agency）、KOICA（Korea International Cooperation Agency）のボランティア、それにNorth South UniversityのEarth Clubのメンバーたち。 人種も国籍も違う彼らを結び付けたのは、「アート、音楽、ファッションといったエンターテイメントを取り入れながら、楽しくゴミのことについて考えて欲しい。」という共通の思いだった。
"Earth Day x 530" was held at North South University, an elite private university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The event was organized by the volunteers from JICA(Japan International Cooperation Agency) and KOICA(Korea International Cooperation Agency), and the members of Earth Club of North South University. Although their races and nationalities are different, they share the same vision that "Combined with entertainment like art, music, and fashion, people can thinking about garbage in a fun way."
And on the day of the event... Various programs were held, and when the event was reaching a final phase, its main program "Eco Fashion Show" has started.
The designers of JICA, KOICA and Earth Club designed eco-friendly costumes such as one-piece suit and sari using waste cloths and the dress dyed with used tea bags. The fashion show fascinated an audience of more than 2,000 people.
