Hey guys, remember that one message we made about the project being canceled? Yeah, we lied.

Well, sort of. Check out this topic for more information: http://forums.sonicretro.org/index.ph...

So, here we are! What we're showing off today should be obvious off the bat, but for the hard of hearing, you'll notice that we finally have a proper implementation of CD audio within the game--including CD playback, pause, and fade support--courtesy of Stealth. The type of audio the game can use will be totally customizable by the player--you can have the CD audio tracks, or you can opt to use the classic FM tracks from previous releases of Megamix. Whether it be about preference or about a lack of space on whatever storage medium you're using to play the game, you don't have to worry about not having something awesome to listen to. ;)

The CD audio will sport a completely original soundtrack by DM Ashura of DDR fame. If you aren't familiar with his work, I highly suggest you check it out. You won't be disappointed! Tracks featured in this video from other games will not remain in the final product; these are simply filler tracks--picked out by myself--for the sake of showing off CD audio in-game. I suppose you should have expected Sonic CD tracks from the start, but there you go. =P

What else is featured is the first working prototype of the brand new boss for Sunny Shores Zone! In our public absence, it seems we weren't the only ones to dip into boss hacking; this didn't stop jman2050 from whipping up several new bosses for the remaining levels, however! The Sunny Shores boss is a freebie to hold you guys off for the moment, but the others won't be shown off so liberally. Enjoy it while it lasts! ;P

There are a couple of small bugs present in the video near the end; both will obviously not be present in the final release.

As always, stop by the Sonic Retro thread for future updates. And prepare to have your mind blown by the final release. Believe it. :)
