With some 5050 RGB LED strip laying around, I decided my TV needed ambiant lighting. Then I couldn't resist applying my MusicalColours code, which flashes the RGB strip according to amplitude of frequencies in the FFT, to the TV audio output.

The result is pretty cool when playing Halo 4. Yes it is distracting. Yes I probably won't use it most of the time but it's cool anyway! In the process, I've made some changes to the Processing script, which allows the user to change the frequency bands of the colours on the fly, for easy configuration. The effect of course works with other games - anything that the TV is playing for that matter.
