Tonight at dusk marks the beginning of a new year for the Jewish community, and a first for the online Jewish community. Beth Adam Synagog in Loveland, Ohio will stream its Rosh Hashanah services live to mobile devices.

"We can speak and reach out and include people from this sanctuary here in Loveland, Ohio... literally to around the world," explained Rabbi Robert Barr.

His counterpart Rabbi Laura Baum said it's all about getting the service to people who cannot come, "There will be hundreds of people in the sanctuary here and thousands more online who are watching and having a Rosh Hashanah experience that they wouldn't probably otherwise have."

The rabbis call it an online congregation where followers can interact with the message and each other, "People who are trapped and homebound are no longer trapped by their surroundings because they are online with us," said Barr.

Ultimately, both Barr and Baum said their responsibilities as rabbis will not end when the streaming is off line, "We're willing to be people's rabbis year round."
