The Mahon Falls are one of my favorite locations to photograph in Ireland. Located in the Comeragh Mountains in County Waterford, they are easily accessible and quite spectacular any time of year.

I'm always take aback by their elegant splendor and sheer beauty

The Falls derive there name from the River Mahon, which flows from here to the seaside village of Bunmahon, meaning bottom of the Mahon.

This particular shot was taken at dawn and involved a night climb, but is worth it every time I do it.

To be witness to a day breaking in one of the most beautiful places in Ireland is a truly special feeling .......and one that I never get tired of.
