Hey there - this is Mehdi from StrongLifts.com. And in this Squat video you can see me Squatting a double with 375lb (170kg)... followed by several back-off sets with 350lb (160kg) for doubles.
If you're not familiar with me, before I started lifting weights several years ago, I was so weak, I couldn't do a single pushup and even lost at armwrestling to a girl. I never did any kind of sports in my life and was born with what some people would call lousy "hardgainer" genetics (my thumb actually overlaps my middlefinger when I grab my wrists, which means I'm not built to be big and strong). I used to be so out of shape, that when I Squatted for the first time, I ended up puking from working towards a ridiculously weak 135lb. And yet today I routinely Squat over 2.5x my own body-weight. I also gained 43lb of mostly muscle in the process of increasing my Squat, while burning my stubborn belly fat once and for all, and without ever using drugs. My big goal is to Squat 200kg/440lb which would be elite for my weight class. I believe I can do it, and I'll put a video of that 200kg Squat when I'm there... not to brag but to inspire you that if can do this, you definitely can do it too if you just use the right training, right diet and right mindset.
