It's boy band update time! So, you guys is One Direction really in trouble for a little copyright infringement!? That's the most recent drama surrounding their new single, 'Live While We're Young' -- and I've got all the details here!

Oh boy — it's another case of you stole my music! Social media was set a blaze this weekend by fans of the legendary punk band The Clash — who are claiming the opening melody of 1D's new single sounds too much like the classic 1982 track 'Should I Stay or Should I Go!'

While no one from either bands' camp has commented on the topic — it will be interesting to see how this all plays out, especially since it's fans of the punk band that are upset, and so far not the band itself. So do you think the two songs sound alike? Could 1D have really ripped off The Clash, or more likely, did the boys receive permission to copy the opening riff to 'Should I Stay Or Should I Go!?!

The intro to Best Song Ever sounds remarkably like Baba O'Riley, doesn't it? -_- And then they ripped of the The Ramones shirt -_-

One Direction did copy of The Clash, The Who and The Beatles. One Direction takes a rich guy, Simon Cowell, and many clever people to make so much money out of 5 pathetic boys. It takes 9 people to write a copyrighted song for One Direction. Back in the 70s Freddie Mercury wrote Bohemian Rhapsody all on his own. That was when music was music and not some shitty boyband standing on a stage singing to pathetic six year olds. There is hope for Rock and Roll to come back. I'm waiting for you Arctic Monkeys!

I could forgive a similar chord progression... but the fucking MUTING is just too impossible for it to be a coincidence. It sounds exactly the same between songs, same pattern, same execution. 1D's songwriters (1D can't write shit on their own, if they did we would all see what terrible "musicians" they are and their tweenybopper fanbase would disown them) can't bother to be original, but they know no one whose opinions mean anything in this hellhole called the music industry is paying attention so they get away with it. The bloody fuckers.
The actually admitted to copying The Clash.
It does. I was watching kids react to One Direction. First thought was "I've heard this before"
+Rinesa Msp You think One Direction fans could beat up Clash fans? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA best joke I've heard all day.

The best joke I heard all day how about I beat you up instead of this CLASH whatever.
Angel J - Last.Fm: The Clash - 72,624,052 plays One Direction - 44,907,353 plays And you say The Clash aren't famous anymore?  Nearly 40 years on and people still listen to their music mate.

These days kids don't know any other singers so no one notices them copying except like people who listen to that other music variety

Yes they did copy!
They did the same thing with Baba O'Riley (The Who) and generated tons of free publicity and they are doing the same with The Clash. Someone in their camp is very smart.

Good Music Never Dies, And that 1D song died a long-long time ago. And Music Is art. Art never dies. If I recreate the Mona Lisa and call it my own and make money out of it that's stupid. And thats what 1D Did, They stole a Lot of good art. And I have nothing Against One Direction they just need to actually sit down and make there own music.
